Focus On Today.
I recently stumbled upon a great video called Today by Rob Bell. This video is about letting go. When you feel pain, address it and move forward. When you are angry with someone, confront them, make peace and let go. He said something that really opened my eyes. "When we are still holding on to how things were, our arms aren't free to embrace today." This got me thinking about my life and the things in my past that I hold on to, things I don't necessarily need. I always try to do the right thing, to try and leave a good impression, and strive to look forward and not back. Yes, looking back and reflecting is a vital part of your growth as a person, but focusing too much on the past only hinders your future. I encourage all of you guys to watch this video and reflect on what it means to you. Everyone will have a different experience with it, but I know it will affect you in someway. For now, my goal is to continue looking forward, with those experiences in the backseat. Whenever I am weary, I can look back and reassure myself that life in the present is more valuable than the events of the past. I hope you find this peace of mind as well.
