A Ripe Opinion On Religion.
Wow, tough subject and very controversial. I will do my best at answering it without offending anybody. Like I mentioned in my previous post, religion was never an important component in my life growing up. When discussing with my mom why this was, she brought up a valid reason. Both of my parents were forced to go to church and follow through with the movements and they hated it. They wanted us kids to have a choice and when we were ready to head down that path we would. My parents felt that this way would make our bond with God stronger, because He had found us and not the other way around. Each of us took our own path, I had been to church a few times here and there but wasn't really that interested until this year. Kendall however, found her relationship with Him a lot sooner than Madison and I did, both of us being much older than her. I have always admired that about Kendall. Maddie has recently begun attending church regularly with her boyfriend and his family, she seems to really be enjoying it. Getting back to the subject, I am newly interested in Religion therefore my opinion is still very ripe and not complete. With that said, I believe there is one God. I think we all (being religions) call him different names and worship him in different ways, but in the end He is the same person. After reading this response, I was perplexed (thank you for making me think critically, I sincerely appreciate it) so I called up the smartest person I know, my mother. We had a long discussion on religion and beliefs, she definitely made things clearer for me. I think worshiping God is a great thing and important, but it isn't for everybody. I believe if you live a life filled with appreciation for the little things, compassion for others, and an understanding nature, you will make it past those pearly gates. No one will really ever know if there are multiple Gods until the day we get the chance to experience it for ourselves. Until then, live compassionately and everything else will fall into place. As for my opinion on the Bible, that is something I cannot answer because no one really knows what the truth is. We may think we do, but we don't and cannot until the day we meet God face to face. I hope these have been substantial answers to your questions and I sincerely appreciate the responses. My whole purpose here is to learn and that is not possible without the curiosity and compliance of others. Thank you so much.

Very nice blog, daughter! I thank you for the compliment although your confidence in my brain power may be misplaced ;) I am so proud of you for starting this journey. I know that some may say that, as your parents, we have failed to give you proper religious instruction as you were growing up. My reply is simply that we chose to guide you in principles rather than organized religion. I don't believe that you have to go to church to worship. I heard a comment from a pastor that has really stuck with me- "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than parking yourself in a garage makes you a car. Your personal relationship to God matters more than how many Sundays you've spent in church". His remark really hit home with me. Not that I don't like church but I'm not a fan of crowds as you well know. I know God can hear me just fine no matter where I am.
